Isn’t food just as important as air? Of course it is. Look at it like this, if you breathe in poor air, your body over time will suffer the consequences and this goes the same for food. What happens when you eat processed food every single day? The answer is quite simple, you become unhealthy and unhappy with the person you are becoming. Why is this topic important to sororities and fraternities who provide food service for their members? Ok, open your ears and your mind as this may be a struggle to follow.
What goes into your body becomes you. You don’t believe me? Ever seen the show “The Biggest Loser”? Well there you go. Eating fresh foods will sustain you throughout the day and lets face it, your responsibility is to eat healthy food. It is the responsibility of the Chef to prepare the food you eat in a safe and healthy manner. Now, because your Chef creates fresh food from fresh ingredients and you have eaten what has been properly prepared, your mind should be ready to retain the information you will be taught in class today. The BIG question is, did the chef prepare the food from scratch? Were the ingredients fresh and was it homemade? Well Chef, was it?
Accountability to your budget, your inventory and the well being of the students who eat your food falls directly on your shoulders! This is how serious I take my position. Why? Because my food is a direct representation of the person I am. You want to judge my personality? Come eat my food. Would you like to see if I belong in this kitchen? Come eat my food. Do I balance my budget responsibly? Ask my vendors. Do you run a sorority kitchen or fraternity? Do you make your food fresh and with passion or do you just have a job?
Have a great day and feed something fantastic to someone.
Amazing urso!!!!!
